The invisible world of Fairies, Gnomes, Goblins and Elves

Magical beings from Celtic, Nordic and Germanic mythology, originating in Europe, Great Britain and Ireland, are part of the beliefs and superstitions that have spread around the world.

These mysterious creatures have been called in different ways such as mouros or mouras, Asturian Xanas, Galician Meigas or commonly Fairies, Gnomes, Goblins and Elves.

According to some stories, when the angels rebelled, God ordered the gates of heaven to be closed, so that those who were in hell became demons and those who remained on earth were transformed into fairies, gnomes, goblins and elves.

From there they live as beings of the invisible world, and some cultures attribute to them surprising, magical or healing gifts and protective qualities to care for, maintain the beauty, vitality, order and balance of nature, by having supernatural powers to heal and guard the four main elements water, fire, air and earth.

However, other beliefs classify them as fifth-dimensional beings, spirits, ghosts, or other astral frequencies.

 

Fairy

The word Fairy comes from the Latin fata or fatum, which means fantastic being. It is usually represented in the form of a woman. It lives in different places, and is responsible for purifying, cleaning impurities and negative energies from the environment.

Sylphs: They live on earth and in the air, among daisies, flowers such as jasmine, roses and trees.

Salamanders: They live among the light, bonfires and flames of fire.

Mermaids: They live in streams, lagoons, seas and where there are sources of water.

Fairies have the ability to disguise themselves as animals or people, and they can also make humans fall in love with their beauty.

According to mythology, if a man marries them, disappears or goes to live in a magical house on the island of eternal youth, these inhabitants are called Tuatha de Danann.

 

Goblin or Duende

The word duende comes from the Arabic word ‘duar’ which means the one who inhabits or owns the house. It is usually represented as a small, old man or child, grumpy and mischievous.

It generally lives in plants and trees. It is responsible for providing economic and spiritual benefits where it lives. It is associated with the earth element because it attaches itself to the places it feels are its own.

It loves honey, cakes, fruits and sweets, perfumes, soft music, coins and mirrors. As well as obstacle courses in the garden, riddles in stones, messages, riddles and little houses, waterfalls or lairs, clean and tidy homes.

It is uncomfortable with dirt, shouting and fighting. When it is dissatisfied and casts spells, it can be chased away with a four-leaf clover or an image of St. Patrick.

They have different functions, depending on their name. Stagoros takes care of the plants, Abaturc helps to find a job, Priscob fulfills wishes, Truppty solves sentimental problems,

Sumizíuss protects money, Jurry takes care of children and Igor attracts abundance.

 

Gnome

The word Gnome was created by the Swiss alchemist Paracelsus in the 16th century, to name people who always find a solution to get ahead, derived from the Greek term gnome which means knowledge, learning, wisdom.

In mythology, gnomes are related to elves. They are associated with wisdom and the secrets of the earth, the cosmos and the universe. They live in the forest.

They are in charge of helping animals, taking care of the mines, precious stones and elementals of the earth.

 

Elf

The word Elf is of Celtic, Nordic and Germanic origin, it means white, incubus, hidden people.

It is associated with a being similar to humans, but more evolved and with a fully developed conscience.

It lives in forests and mountains, it is immortal. Its gifts are the bodily intelligence to merge the body, spirit and mind, it has infravision to see at night, natural healing powers such as reiki, developed and telepathic instinct, creative energy to make and recreate its reality or physical bodies.

It has artistic skills, the ability to transform, blur and appear as different characters, in addition, it has a strong connection with the heart of the earth, which it can use magically to protect the integrity of the planet.

According to some popular legends, every March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day, all these fantastic beings, Fairies, Gnomes, Goblins and Elves come out into the environment, in the middle of the invisible world to make mischief or have fun.
