The pianist Sheila Blanco visits Colombia

The Spanish artist and singer-songwriter returns to the country as part of her Latin American tour to present her most recent album.

Through a concert recital, her musical proposal gives voice to poems by women of the generation of ’27.

Her recent album and her show “Cantando a las poetas del 27” she evokes an emotional interpretation of piano and verses.

In a performance that lasts around 75 minutes, she delights the spectators with profound poetry of the time.

A vibrant and inspiring work that brings together a compendium of 3 years of research loaded with disturbing harmonies to honor talented women.

Don’t miss her visit to Colombia, on May 13th at the Pablo Tobon Uribe Theater in Medellin and on May 17th in Bogota, in the Gaitan Hall of the Jorge Eliecer Gaitan Theater.

 

 

About the poems

The album brings together poems by Carmen Conde, the first woman to join the RAE in 1979, and by Concha Mendez, surrealist poet and founder of the renowned Veronica printing house.

As well as Ernestina de Champourcin, nominated for the Prince of Asturias for Literature; and Margarita Ferreras, author of “Pez en la tierra”, Best Feminine Poetry of the Silver Age.

Added to the literary creations of Josefina Romo Arregui, Extraordinary Prize in Philosophy and Letters.

In addition to containing the verses of prominent artists such as Elisabeth Mulder and Dolores Catarineu.

 

About Sheila Blanco

She “She was born in Salamanca where she studied classical piano, bel canto and Audiovisual Communication.

She then moved to Madrid where she combined journalism and music to dedicate herself to singing and composing.

Subsequently, years later she self-published her first album Sheila Down.

From then until then, she has been growing in the music industry due to her style and versatility.

She has been a vocalist for the Larry Martin Band (Everything must change, 2012), Speak Jazzy (A song for you, 2015) or Patax (A night to remember, 2016).

Likewise, she has collaborated in several TV programs, such as “Acapela en Cero”, as well as “Vermu” on Movistar Plus and radio on “Anda ya! in Los40”.

Currently, she combines the presentation of her latest album with her jazz trio “Puro Gershwin” among other occasional formations.

In addition, Sheila Blanco is a vocal coach on the Antena 3 program “The Voice Kids” and she collaborates weekly on the Cadena Ser programs “La Ventana” and “Sofa Sonoro”.

At the moment, she is on tour in Latin America where she visits Colombia, and will also tour Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic.
