The movie Esposas now on the big screen

Death and friendship are mixed through a drama with shades of black comedy, deep emotions and an interesting narrative.

This independent film and second feature film by Colombian Juan Rocha comes with a black and white style and with unconventional filming methods.

The story focuses on a group of friends who meet after the death of one of them to grieve through friendship.

With the particularity that they do it with shades of dark humor and a small black comedy.

The film features special performances by Beatriz Carvajal, Sirley Martinez and Nelly Vargas.

They are part of the Bogota Academy of Arts in Colombia and debut on the big screen after years of doing theater.

About the film

It was filmed in 2019 over 10 days in Bogota, Colombia. It had a team of 15 people.

It was made in a collaborative process with experimental film practices due to its particular way of recording.

In its audiovisual format, improvisation and participation of the actresses in the script predominated.

The production was managed with its own resources, had Dago Garcia as associate producer and reaches Colombian movie theaters thanks to La Alucinante Fabrica.

“Esposas” in english “Wibes” is the second film by Juan Rocha that follows his debut  “La Asuncion de Jose” or “The Assumption of Jose”.

Currently, the director has his third film underway, “El Hombre que Parecia un Caballo” or “The Man Who Looked Like a Horse,” focused on the life of Porfirio Barba Jacob.
