Monsieur Periné and Carlos Vives sing El Avión
Journey, freedom, and human stories that cross borders from a migrant perspective are what the artists’ new single tells.
A song with profound emotions arrives as part of Monsieur Periné’s upcoming album, “Instrucciones para ser feliz” (Instructions for Being Happy), which will be released on April 30.
The group, along with Carlos Vives, creates a vibrant collaboration, joining the list of other stellar collaborations released by 5020 Records.
“El Avión” or (The Airplane) is a metaphor for travel that reflects on the fleeting nature of life, where every opportunity is unique, even with the risks of emigrating.
The lyrics are full of energy, celebrating the freedom to live in the moment and leave fears behind.
It’s a fusion of Latin pop and Caribbean rhythms with a generational encounter that connects tradition, joy, and an adventurous spirit.
A Vibrant Mix
Regarding this, Catalina García of Monsieur Periné commented:
“Many times, the decision to migrate isn’t just about papers or borders, but about what one carries in their heart and the search for a better life.
The story of migrants is the story of people who leave everything behind for an opportunity, and that always comes at an emotional cost.”
About the collaboration, the artist added:
“Carlos Vives has always been a role model for us. We grew up with his music and the way he blends Colombian sounds with a modern vision.
We’ve always admired his way of telling our stories and giving space to new voices. Being able to create with him was a dream that finally came true.”
A Special Collaboration
Carlos Vives said:
“The collaboration with Monsieur Periné was something I’d been looking forward to for a long time. When they presented ‘El Avión’ to me, I immediately felt it had something special.
It was a really fun creative process, and you can feel it in both the music and the video. It’s a very joyful, upbeat, and very special song for us.”
