November 1st

All Saints’ Day, which is commemorated in several countries of Christian faith.

1898: it is the ‘first exhibition of the cinematograph in Colombia’, carried out by Mr. Wilson and Gaylord & Co in Medellin.

November 2nd

Day of the faithful departed or dead, which is commemorated to pray for those who have died.

1936: BBC London begins its first television broadcast in the United Kingdom.

1958: the Unesco headquarters are inaugurated in Paris.

1916: the brothers Francesco and Vincenzo Di Domenico publish the first issue of the magazine ‘Peliculas’ in Bogota.

1891: the ‘National Police of Colombia’ is created.

1524: ‘Rodrigo Galvan de Bastidas’, Spanish conqueror, founds Santa Marta in Colombia, as the first city.
