The first single from the American band’s upcoming studio album is packed with immersive sound, energy, and emotion.
A song with vibrant guitars and keyboards pulsates to the rhythm of Dave Grohl, who delivers powerful and driving backing vocals.
The band brings intense lyrics and signature sound are a preview of their upcoming self-titled album, “Your Favorite Toy.”
It was recorded at home, co-produced by Foo Fighters and Oliver Roman, who also handled the sound engineering, with mixing by Mark “Spike” Stent.
The iconic sound embodies the style of the band, comprised of Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, Rami Jaffee, and Ilan Rubin.
Their twelfth album officially arrives on April 24th via Roswell Records/RCA Records.
Inspiration
Regarding the album, Dave Grohl commented:
“’Your Favorite Toy’ was key to defining the tone and energetic direction of the new album.
We found it by chance after experimenting with different sounds and dynamics for over a year, and one day this album took shape.
I knew we had to continue in this direction. It was the spark that ignited the powder keg of songs we recorded for this album. It feels new.”

Following the release of “Your Favorite Toy,” Foo Fighters embark on their “Take Cover” world tour, kicking off on June 10th at the Unity Arena in Oslo.
This tour includes two shows at the US festivals: Welcome to Rockville and Bottlerock.
