1900: Pablo Picasso presents the first exhibition of drawings in Barcelona in the modernist tavern Els Quatre Gats.

February 4th

1927: Premiere of the film The Jazz Singer, by Warner Bross, the first sound film in history.

1938: The Walt Disney Company releases its first film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

February 5th

1852: Inauguration of the Heritage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

1887: Giuseppe Verdi’s opera Otello premieres in Milan, Italy.

February 6th

1833: Samuel Morse publicly presents his invention of the electric telegraph.

February 7th

1876: Alexander Graham Bell patents the invention of the telephone, an idea he took from Antonio Meucci.

2011: Helenita Vargas, Colombian singer, dies.
