Don’t miss the movie Colibri in theaters

The drama that won the award for best international feature film at The Long Island International Film Expo 2024 arrives in Colombia.

The film delves into the search for identity and love by a millennial couple who are preparing to conceive amidst life’s challenges.

Through the eyes of its directors Juanpedro David and Francisco Salazar, the feature film faces reality, its ups and downs and changes.

Its protagonists are Nathalie Rangel, Simon Elias, Eugenia Forteza and Alejandra Miranda along with more than 50 people including actors, extras and others.

Colibri is a film by La Cuarta Productions in co-production with LaColonia Films and Casa Al Aire.

It has the executive production of Sindy Lopez and the production of Julian Chona. It hits Colombian movie theaters in August thanks to La Alucinante Fabrica.

The Film

It was financed with awards obtained at the Villa Film Works in Progress 2023 Festival in Villa de Leyva, Colombia; at the Workshop FilmShop in New York and at the Reel Change Film Grant in the United States.

It is the second film by the Salazar brothers, after Nowhere, a production that was released in the United States, Colombia, France and the United Kingdom.

It was part of the official selection of important international festivals such as Outfest Fusion, ImageOut Film Festival and Cinequest.”

 

The Music

Colibri’s song seeks to conquer the hearts of listeners, not only in the film but with the upcoming release of its video clip.

It is directed by Francisco Salazar, produced by Julian Chona and edited by Juanpedro Salazar.

The single was written by Andres Soto and is performed by Angela Pico with Latin Grammy nominee Sebastian Mejia and produced by Maria Linares of Fiona Records.

The song Colibri will be released on La Cuarta ProductionsYouTube channel and on various digital platforms.

The Directors

“Juanpedro David and Francisco Salazar are filmmakers.

David has an M.S. from Fordham University, while Francisco has an M.S. from the New School.

Their debut feature Nowhere was in more than 20 Film Festivals and was nominated for two Macondo Awards.

It also won Best First Film and Best Feature Film at several festivals.

In 2019 they were selected for the first Latinx List of the Black List and in 2020 they joined FilmShop.”
