Don’t miss the inspiring film Kintsugi

Based on the Japanese technique that highlights ceramic scars with gold, this film is a metaphor for life transformation.

Complex and contradictory human perceptions are revealed through a unique writer, who upon arriving in a Bogotá neighborhood triggers unexpected events.

Love, rivalry, lifestyles and changes emerge palpitatingly in the plot that captures a surprising reality where superficiality seems to be the most important thing.

In this sense, repair and transformation emerge as a metaphor where its characters find strength and beauty in their own imperfections.

“Kintsugi” is an inspiring film directed by Jose Luis Arzuaga and produced by SMYJ, MsCrea and Studio Aymac.

Don’t miss it in movie theaters in Colombia thanks to the distribution of La Alucinante Fabrica starting May 30th.

Interview with Director

“Jose Luis Arzuaga was born in Bogota, Colombia. He is the son of the Spanish filmmaker Jose Maria Arzuaga, from whom he inherited his passion for the audiovisual and film industry.

He has worked in advertising films, some feature films in various production areas and as first assistant director in the film “Bolivar I am” by Jorge Ali Triana.

He has an advertising and marketing agency. He in turn directs and writes for television, theater and a satellite pay channel. His work emerges between Bogota and Spain.

“Kintsugi” is the second feature film by Jose Luis, who in 2023 presented his debut film “Aurora”.

Added to this are outstanding short films made such as “Bed Five”, “Wake up” and “Yellow Dream”.

He is currently advancing pre-production on his third feature film, a project that explores faith as an element of identity.”

The recording

It was made in four stages over five years where it captured the streets of Bogota city in a time of prominent greenery when technology was less invasive.

Its main characters were Felipe Arcila, Katherine Escobar and Josue Bernal.

This film was sponsored by Law 814 or Film Law, with the support of contributing investors.

Story background

“It addresses a generation inserted in the transition from analog to digital and the emotional consequences in a changing world.

Which is full of digital micro universes where human perceptions are as different and varied as applications and devices.”
