The Red Macaw is an exotic and amazing species

A colorful species from Central and South America has slender plumage that radiates joy and unity in the green heart of the forest.

With intense and beautiful colors in its plumage, the Scarlet Macaw stands out in the middle of the treetops.

Its red body, its blue and yellow wings flutter like a tricolor bird following the rhythm of the mountains, the savannahs and the Andes of Central and South America.

Striking among the biodiverse fauna, it perches on the top of the forests, to stand out among the parrots as one of the largest species of its kind, with 80 to 100 centimeters in height and approximately one and a half kilograms in weight.

Its exotic beauty catches the gaze of the environment, and from the dome it clings tightly to the branches with its four-fingered legs, while it feeds on berries, insects, fruits, seeds, nuts, worms and flower nectar, which it savors. thoroughly with its long, thick bill of dark and ivory tone.

Its neutral-colored adolescent eyes look restlessly as time goes by, then its pupils light up to yellow and white tones to give way to its maturity.

Ready for courtship, at four years old she goes out to meet the male who charms her. With sounds and flaps, various suitors seek her attention, but only the one who has done it best steals his gaze.

Faced with the conquest skills, she is caught up in emotion to make way for her mating. Among the joy of finding her new lover, she sows the fruit of her next offspring.

Three medium-sized eggs come out of that beautiful encounter, which she carries protected to the nest to incubate with her partner for 25 days. They both look forward to the birth of their little macaws.

After almost 4 weeks, the babies hatch and are received by their happy parents, who from that moment watch over their care and food.

A beautiful family is formed, and from there the Scarlet Macaw and her couple are inseparable, as they are a monogamous species that loves to share away from solitude.

Between flocks, the couple remains accompanied in the forest, and if one is isolated, it surrounds itself with other birds so as not to feel vulnerable, while they return to the nest.

Then, they take flight as a family, making shrill guttural sounds to communicate and maintain constant contact while in flight.

This is how this beautiful family of Scarlet Macaws, also called Ara Chloropterus Gray, lives an average of 60 years between nests and branches of the forest at altitudes no higher than 1500 meters. It lives in countries like Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, Bolivia, Panama, Mexico and Honduras.

A colorful species, with slender plumage that radiates love, joy and unity in the green heart of the leaves, but needs to feel more protected amid the latent threats of illegal hunting and extinction that constantly surround it due to its impeccable beauty.
